Welcome to the website of Bromley Indoor Bowls Centre!
16th JANUARY 2021
Dear BIBC Members
We hope that you are all safe and well. The last 10 months have been very difficult for everyone but hopefully now the vaccine is available, it won’t be long before we can all get back to some normality.
The Centre is empty at the moment but it’s waiting for everyone to return. Because of the virus situation and the fact that the Centre hasn’t been open properly for some time, our finances are not in the greatest of places. We are set to lose some £80k this year, luckily, we do have some reserves that will keep us going for a short while but not forever. We want the Centre to be as successful as it has been over the last few years but to achieve that, we need all the help we can get. Bromley Council has refused to waive any lease payments and that amounts to £50k per annum, we have obligations to make sure that the building and its contents are maintained. We have other rental agreements for equipment and facilities and even though the Centre has been mothballed, there will be some heating and security bills to pay.
We realise that the Centre is not providing the members with facilities at the present time but we have tried to help out by extending the membership timescales and lowering the annual subscription rate. As mentioned in previous correspondence to you all, now is the time to renew your membership. You will be helping to keep the Centre afloat for a lot longer if you can renew now. It is a very genuine scenario that BIBC could go out of business if inactivity and outgoings as they are, continue at the present rate. If you would like to help by renewing now (£80, January to August 2021), the following is the best way.
The preferred method of payment at the moment is by online (BACS) payment to; -
Sort Code 20-14-33 Account 00514357
If you do renew, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org giving details of the transfer.
Some members have already renewed their membership and many thanks to you, this will definitely help the Centre to survive.
